Leighann C. Krasney, D.O., M.P.H.

Fellowship-trained shoulder and elbow surgeon Dr. Leighann Krasney specializes in advanced care for shoulder and elbow disorders. She is dedicated to helping her patients return to their sports and favorite activities as well as restore function in patients with shoulder osteoarthritis and acute upper extremity injuries. Dr. Krasney serves patients at Mountain Valley Orthopedics in East Stroudsburg, Tobyhanna, Brodheadsville, and Milford.

After graduating Cum Laude from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, Dr. Krasney earned her Master of Public Health degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She went on to graduate with her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was awarded the highest honors and graduated #1 in her medical school class of 244 students. She was also the sole recipient of the Dr. Kiren C. Patel College of Medicine Chancellor's Award for demonstrating the characteristics of scholarship, leadership, integrity, humanity, and loyalty to the profession. Dr. Krasney then completed her orthopedic surgery residency at UPMC in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. After choosing to specialize further in shoulder and elbow surgery, she completed the nationally recognized American Shoulder and Elbow Society fellowship at California Pacific Orthopaedics in San Francisco under James D. Kelly, M.D. Dr. Krasney strives to use her accomplished background in treating shoulder and elbow injuries and pathologies to help patients restore their motion and participate in activities that fulfill their lives. She looks forward to helping her patients get back to doing activities they enjoy without pain or limitations.

Dr. Krasney enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, as well as traveling to new places, weightlifting, and outdoor activities, like snowboarding, cycling, scuba diving, and hiking.
