Roger Componovo, M.D.
The following are reviews from patients of Roger Componovo, M.D..
“I am so glad I had the total knee replacement done. Even a few days after surgery, I did not have the amount of pain I had for years prior. Everything went well right from the doctor's office, right through the procedure and my hospital stay. I would definitely recommend Dr. Componovo and all the staff at Moutain Valley Orthopedics.”

“I had a sudden attack of a serious infection in a hip that had been replaced 20 years ago with no problems since. Suddenly, I could no longer walk and I was a newcomer to this area with no previous medical connections. Pocono Medical Center spent a day testing me & found sepsis in my hip. Dr. Camponovo was called in on an emergency basis & set up a procedure for an operation to attempt to remove that infection & called in several specialists to consult, as the cause was unknown, but very serious. He was at the hospital every day to check on me with infection specialists. He followed up for 3 months while I was in recovery at home. At all times, he was honest with me about the possibility that the treatment might not work & what treatment may have to follow in the future. He worked very closely with Dr. Gandotra, the infection specialist, & my treatment with him. His instructions for my recovery were very strict & he explained in detail what might happen if I did not follow them. He was also frank about a possibility of a future attack & the drastic treatment for it. I really appreciated his honesty & his strictness about treatment. Some patients like to have their hand held & be told that all is wonderful. I do not. I want to know that my doctor is telling the truth yet showing a concern for my health.”

“Wonderful, intelligent, and empathetic physician. He does something that most doctors do not do; he listens to his patients and he actually hears them. I was pleasantly surprised and relieved that he prescribed a treatment plan for me that worked. I can not say enough about him. I highly recommend this efficient, caring physician and his office personnel.”

“Dr. Componovo replaced both my knees in May 2015, and after following all protocols including physical therapy, I no longer experience the pain in my knees I had for years. I sleep better and can now walk up and down stairs pain free. I can go on long walks with my dog and my knees feel great afterwards. My quality of life has greatly improved. Dr. Componovo and his team were very professional and caring in monitoring me from surgery thru recovery. I am very grateful for the excellent care I received and the concern shown for my improvement. Thank you!”

“I was shocked when I learned that I needed a total hip replacement. I realized the necessity of it, but was still very apprehensive. Dr. Componovo put me completely at ease, and his staff reinforced my confidence. The surgery was performed very early on a Monday morning during the height of a blizzard, which made the day truly unforgettable to me. Everything, the surgery, recovery, and therapy, went perfectly well, and my recovery has been remarkable. I now am very active and able to throw a football around with my grandchildren. Many thanks to Dr. Componovo and all his staff, including Nikki and Kathy. They are all very caring and professional. Also thanks to PMC and the nurses and everyone else who cared for me. They all make up a special team. I thank God for your help in improving my life.”

“I had a very good experience at Mountain Valley Orthopedics. I had a total hip replacement. I was in a lot of pain before the surgery. Now I can say I'm pain free. I was worried about the surgery. To tell you the truth – scared. But it all went so smoothly. My family and I couldn't believe how well it went. I was actually walking the next day. Sure, I had a walker, but I could feel the difference right away, and with home therapy, I was on my way to a pain free hip. I feel so appreciative of Dr. Componovo and his staff. They were great. They answered all of my questions before and after the surgery. They were very caring. Dr. Componovo is an excellent surgeon in my opinion, and I would recommend him to anyone, and I have. Some members of the church I attend have had knee and double hip replacements and are all doing fine. Also, I'm a Vietnam Veteran who has medical issues that are serious and it all went well for me.”

“I waited to have a hip replacement until I couldn't walk or sleep at night because of the pain. I thought that the surgery would be something to dread. Finally, I made the decision to do it. When I had my appointment with Dr. Componovo, I wouldn't let him manipulate the painful joint, so he asked me to describe what I was feeling. I was very aware that during my lengthy explanation, he never once looked like he wasn't really paying attention. The hospital stay was quite amazing! All the scheduling and rules were directly implemented for the care and comfort of the patients. There were no night time disturbances, so that the patients got a good night's sleep. The food was good and never late. The staff was unbelievably pleasant and helpful. I might mention that the rooms are unusually tastefully decorated. I had a very quick recovery with no complications. There was a definite awareness the whole time that Dr. Componovo runs a tight ship that everyone is appreciative of.”

“I had been putting off a knee replacement for a while now and I'm kicking myself. Dr. Componovo and Kathy were amazing and super organized. Everything I needed to do was laid out for me and I just had to run the list. This was my 8th or 9th surgery on that knee, so it was not your typical surgery. Dr. Componovo took the time to explain exactly what would be done and what would happen and when. The surgery went perfectl,y and even when the hospital discovered a blood clot in my lung (that I came into the hospital with and had no idea it was there), he changed my care and adjusted my therapy to help keep the process going smooth! From a pain perspective until the treatment for the blood clot came into play, I had much less pain than I was expecting. In fact, this surgery was less painful than my quad tendon rupture repair and my patellectomy. This must be due to the care and consideration for patient comfort that goes into the procedure. If you have to have joint replacement surgery, this is the place to have it done and the doctors to do it! I can't thank them enough for their incredible care and bedside manner. Just fantastic!”
